Extensions, alternations & additions

Extensions are normally an addition of a room to an existing house structure. Alterations are internal changes usually involve the knocking out of walls. Additions are commonly considered large extensions which can involve the raising of a house to add more room underneath. There are many advantages to building an extension such as to accommodate a teenager or elderly family member and can even generate a secondary income. Our highly skilled in house team and site managers can competently deliver your request whether it be a renovation or an extension, adding a deck or re-modelling a bathroom, kitchen or en suite. What size extension does not require planning permission and how do I plan for one?

Generally, eight meters for detached house and six meters for all other houses without planning permission.
